VIOLENCE IN VIDEO GAMES.

Today we're gonna talk about a controversial topic: Violence in video games.

First, we'll define what does that mean:

Violence is usually represented by someone who use their physical force to get something, specially to dominate someone, or impose something.

It is widely recognized that in more than half of the video games that are available to the public, they contain some type of violence, be it physical, verbal, psychological or sexual. This issue has become controversial in recent years, as there have been cases in which minors who had access to video games which has violent content, these minors were captured using firearms, especially in shootings to generate panic in schools full of students.

The age rating system is an objective and standardized way to help every consumer to determine if a video game is suitable or not for minors or is aimed at a certain type of audience, thus indicating the type of content of the same.

This is available in the print of all video games that are for sale, such as the age rating ESRB founded in the United States since 1994, made to warn the community about the content of the product you are purchasing.

Violence in video games may have a certain relationship with the violence presented by the gamer community, but this is not the fault of video games itself, as this is completely related to the lack of psychological attention and personal conflicts of the consumer. It also depends a lot on the education that has been received at home since childhood, since many repressions of feelings can be externalized with violent video games. That is why psychology care from childhood and especially in mental health is very important, not forgetting to take care of the type of content to which minors are exposed.
